Sooo, jetzt ist auch die "kleine Schwester der Borte  fertig. 80cm mal 14 mm ,
Soo now I finished the small addition to the border, measuring 80cm X 14mm

Das Muster habe ich aus dem anderen abgeleitet. Die Borte wird den Halsausschnitt desselben Gewandes zieren.

 

The pattern derived from the other one, since the border will form the neckline of the same garment.

Schürze-Apron

Meine mittelalterliche Gewandung hat einen neuen Teil: eine Schürze!
My medieval garment has a new part: an apron!

 

Leider lässt sich das gedrehte Bild nicht hochladen. So müsst ihr halt mal Gymnastik machen ;)

Die Schürze ist aus weißem Leinen mit der Maschine genäht, denn vermutlich muss sie relativ oft in die Waschmaschine. Wenn ich bedenke, dass ich letztes Mal 5 verschiedene Flecken ( Ruß, Matsch, Gras, Ketchup, Apfelsaft) auf meinem Gewand hatte...

The apron is made of white linen and sewn by machine, since I think it will be washed quite often, considering that I had 5 different sorts of stains on my garment (grime, mud, grass, ketchup and apple juice)

3,60 m lang, Bockens Leinengarn als Grund und rotes handgesponnenes Garn als Broschurschuss.

 

3,60 m long, Bocken linen yarn as a base and red handspun wool for the brocade weft.

 

 

Nordseewellen- north sea waves

Nachdem unser Spinnthema vom Themenspinnen mir wirklich gut gefällt, habe ich gleich am Anfang ein schönes Garn mit dem Namen Nordseewellen gesponnen (leider habe ich erst jetzt Zeit zum Posten). Es ist mal wieder aus meiner Restekiste entstanden, deshalb kann ich zum Material keine genauen Angaben machen, hauptsächlich Wolle und ein bisschen Nylon. Zusätzlich habe ich viele Glasperlen eingesponnen und mit türkisem Nähgarn spiralig gezwirnt. Auch die Lauflänge habe ich nicht ausgemessen, aber der Strang wiegt 39g.

Since I really appreciate our new topic from the theme spinning blog, I spun a nice yarn called North Sea Waves. I used leftovers, so the only thing  I can say is that it consists of wool and a little nylon and the skein weighs 39gms. I plied it with sewing thread (which contained numerous beads).

Dieses Garn wird erst mal in meiner Schatzkiste landen und mich an die Nordsee erinnern. Obwohl ich in einer ganz anderen Ecke Deutschlands lebe, habe ich mich im Urlaub einfach in die See verliebt. Wer weiß, vielleicht lande ich irgendwann doch mal da?

Fasertest: Kamelhaar Fiber test: camel hair

Ich habe eine neue Lieblingsfaser: Kamelhaar! Extrem weich, eine superschöne Naturfarbe und lässt sich richtig dünn ausspinnen.

I have a new favourite fiber: camel! Really soft, a beautiful natural colour and you can spin really thin threads out of it.

 

Tja, und nun zu den Nachteilen: nasses Kamel stinkt wesentlich mehr als nasses Schaf! Und der Kammzug fusselt wie Sau, sodass ich mich zum Spinnen auf die Terrasse setzen musste. Im Teppich hätte die Faser nichts genutzt;)

But it also has some disadvantages: wet camel hair smells much more than wet wool! And the roving was really fuzzy, so I went into the garden for spinning. I wouldn't quite have appreciated the fiber in my carpet.

Schwabsburger Garn

Aus meinen Wiesensalat- Kammzügen vom Schwabsburger Wollfest sind zwei weiche, dicke Wintergarne geworden.

 

I spun my Wiesensalat rovings from the Schwabsburg wool fare into two thick, soft winter yarns.

 

Beide etwa für Nadelstärke 6. Die grünen Singles habe ich miteinander verzwirnt. Im Herbst wird das ein Drop Stitch Scarf.

 

They're about needle size 6mm. I plied both green singles together. In autumn, I will knit a Drop stitch scarf of it.

Wollmaus

In den letzten Wochen habe ich mehrere Art Yarns gesponnen:

 

Ein rotes Kringelgarn, aus selbstkardierten Batts und rotem Konennähgarn. Aus einem Teil davon habe ich mir eine Handytasche gestrickt. Aber Lauflänge und Gewicht weiß ich nicht mehr.

 

During the last few weeks, I spun several Art Yarns:

a red curly yarn of self- carded batts and red sewing thread. I knit a mobile phone bag out of a part, but I forgot about length and weight.

 

 

Dasselbe in blau:

Sogar mit ein paar kleinen Perlchen :) aber das Bild lädt irgendwie grad nicht :(

it even contains some beads:) but the close-up pic doesn't work properly:(

 

Außerdem noch blaues Boucle, aber die Farben sind eigentlich heller.

Das wird ein Fallmaschencowl, der auch schon angestrickt ist.

I'm gonna knit it up as a drop stitch cowl (I actually started up already)
