 So hieß der Kammzug, den ich anfang Dezember bei der Melinoliesl gekauft habe. 140 g von den 244 g sind inzwischen versponnen, 1503 m Lauflänge sind's geworden. Die Joy läuft so leise und flott, da wird das Garn fast von allein so dünn. Aus den 140g wird ein Lacetuch, der Rest wird genauso dünn gesponnen und navajoverzwirnt. Das wird vielleicht ein Paar Handschuhe, mal sehen.

that was the name of the roving I bought from Melinoliesl some weeks ago. 140 gms of the 244 gms are already spun, measuring 1503 m. Since the Joy is so nice and smooth to spin, the yarn seems to become so lacy all alone.The 140 gms will become a lace shawl, and the rest (spun similar thick and then navajo-plied) probably some gloves...we'll see.

Wollige Vorsätze - wooly intents

Erst einmal ein gutes neues Jahr für euch alle ;)
Für das neue Jahr gibt es bei mir einige wollige Vorsätze:
- alle derzeit bestehenden Ufos sollen bis zum Sommer fertig sein (oder auch geribbelt)
- Da ich im neuen Jahr (hoffentlich) einige freie Zeitfenster haben werde, gibt es einige Themen, die ich neu angehen oder vertiefen will: vor allem Pflanzenfärben, Art Yarns und Weben.

First of all, a good new year for all of you ;)
For the new year, I have some wooly intents:
- all UFOs/WIPs right now are supposed to be either finished or ripped out by summer
- Since I will (hopefully) have some free periods of time, there are some topics I want to work on: especially plant dyeing, Art Yarns, and weaving.

Girls just wanna have fun

das ist der Name, der sich mir beim Betrachten dieses Kammzugs im getrockneten Zustand aufgedrängt hat. Natürlich sind die Farben überhaupt nicht so, wie ich es geplant hatte, und ein Kammzug ist auch nicht ganz durchgefärbt, aber mir gefällts ganz gut. Grund für die Färbeorgie, deren weitere Ergebnisse demnächst noch folgen, ist der neue Herd, der nicht eingesifft werden soll, also hab ich die Zeit mit dem alten noch mal ausgenutzt.

 

that's the name that came to me when looking at this dried- up roving. Of course, the colours ain't what I had thought of and one roving is not dyed entirely through, but I like it. The reason for this  dye-attack is that we got a new oven I don't want to become dirty, so I made use of the old before changing.

Regenwürmer in orange- orange earthworms

 

hat es bei mir gegeben, nachdem bei mir ein Ashford Joy eingezogen ist . Bei 34g misst das Garn knapp 12 m. Also ein Riesenregenwurm ;)

 

have developed with me since an Ashford Joy moved in. Weighing 34 gms the yarn measures about 12m, so it's a reeeally giant earthworm.

So, nachdem über die letzten Wochen bei mir viel entstanden ist, aber keine Zeit zum Bloggen war, gibt's jetzt in den nächsten Tagen  bei mir ein paar Posts mehr als üblich.

Mohair- Kuschelschal / Mohair cuddle scarf

Noch etwas ist bei mir fertig geworden: ein Kuschelschal mit Mohair.
Another UFO finished: a very cuddly mohair scarf.

In den gleichen Farben hatte ich 100g BFL und ein 50-g-Knäul von einem Mohairgarn gefärbt, die ich dann miteinander verzwirnt habe. Verwebt entstand ein kuschelweicher Schal mit sehr weichen Farbübergängen, da der Farbrapport auf dem im Strang gefärbten Industriegarn natürlich viel kürzer war.

I had dyed 100g BFL and a 50-gms- ball of mohair thread in the same colours and plyed them. Woven, a scarf with very soft colour changing evolved since the ball yarn had real short stripes.

Perlen-Eis / bead ice

Passend zum Wetter ist bei mir etwas ganz frostiges entstanden:
To match the weather around here, I made something really frosty:

 

 

 

Die Kette ist 40 cm lang, das Armband misst 19 cm . Gehäkelt auf Zwirn mit Gütermann Rocailles 9/0 und Nadel 1,0

The necklace measures 40 cm, the bracelet 19 cm. Croched on sewing thread using Gütermann Rocailles 9/0 and a 1 mm crochet hook.

Perlenhäkelspaß- bead crochet fun

Sooo, jetzt hat das Perlenhäkeln endlich den Durchbruch geschafft. Nachdem meine ersten Armbänder größtenteils recht kümmerlich aussahen oder kleine Fehlerchen hatten, gab es erst mal dieses


Finally, my bead crochet effords have had their breakthru. After my first bracelets having had lots of mistakes and not looking very neat, this

nette Teilchen. Noch ziemlich ungleichmäßig, aber die erste Kette.

Gefolgt von diesem Armband, von dem ich leider gerade kein besseres Foto habe. Macht aber nichts, dazu gibt's nämlich noch eine Kette ;)

nice one made its way. Still pretty uneven, but my first necklace. It was followed by this bracelet (of which I don't yet have a better photo, but it doesn't matter since there will be a matching necklace, too).

Irgendwie viel flexibler und komplett fehlerlos ;) so langsam wirds.
