Nordsee die nächste /North Sea for the next time

Irgendwie kommt bei mir das Thema Nordsee immer wieder. So ist in der letzten Zeit ein Corespun entstanden, aus Rolags die ich unterwegs kardiert hatte. Fertig sieht das so aus (leider hab ich keine genauen Lauflänge- und Gewichtsangaben und keine Bilder von den Rolags..tststs :))

Somehow the topic "North Sea" keeps reappearing in my works. For example, I made a corespun out of rolags I had carded while on a visit. Finished, it looks like this (unfortunately I don't have any specific facts such as weight or length and no rolag pictures...)

So siehts aus, das Knäuel ist ungefähr so groß wie ein Tennisball.

Außerdem stricke ich grade noch ein Nordseetuch, nämlich Juist von Elke Borchert

Hier seht ihr meine Version bei Ravelry. Es ist ein ganz einfaches Tuch, aber im Moment brauch ich solche mindless- knitting- Projekte.

Furthermore, I'm knitting a North sea Shawl: 'Juist' by Elke Borchert. Following the link you can see my version on ravelry. It's a really simple Shawl, but at the moment I need mindless knitting Projects.

Das Garn dafür ist selbstgesponnen aus diesem Kammzugrest, der von der Melinoliesl gefärbt wurde: Wasserwelten hieß er. Das Garn ist sehr dünn, etwas unter Sockenwollstärke. Mal schauen, wie das Tuch wird.

The yarn is my own handspun from this roving remainder dyed by Melinoliesl: Wasserwelten. The yarn is quite thin, a little less than sockweight. We'll see what the Shawl looks like.

Nachdem diese Projekte grad so wunderbar zum Thema passen geht's ab damit zum Themenspinnen !

Eine alte Stickübung../ an old embroidery sample

...hat sich in dieses kleine Nadelkissen verwandelt. Im vorletzten Sommer habe ich eine Weile lang viel Blackwork gestickt, das hier war ein Versuch, der eigentlich ein Beutelchen werden sollte. Leider war eine Seite zu kurz, so habe ich es jetzt zugenäht und ausgestopft.  Das Nadelkissen misst ca. 7x 4 cm.

 

... has now been transformed into this pincushion. In the summer of 2012, I did a lot of blackwork embroidery and this was a sample supposed to form a pouch, but on one side there was not enough fabric left, so now I sewed up the sides and stuffed it. The pincushion measures about 7 x 4 cm.

 

 

Soo, angesichts des schönen Wetters werd' ich jetzt noch ein bisschen in der Sonne brettchenweben gehen, ich hab gestern drei Meter Sulawesi aufgezogen. Ansonsten herrscht hier grade UFO-Freiheit, demnächst gibt es hier aber noch ein paar Bilder von fertigen Sachen, einige Garne und ein Webprojekt z.B.

 

Since the weather is really nice around here I'll go and do some tabletweaving in the sun. Yesterday, I warped about 3 meters of Sulawesi, but all other UFOs are finished. Over the next days I'll show you some finished objects, e.g. some yarns and a woven Project.

Gestrickt aus Sockenwolle mit Nadel 2.5, frei Schnauze gestrickt, gemerkt und aufgeschrieben;)  Ich bin sooo happy dass das geklappt hat;)

Da ich hoffentlich noch ein paar Muster veröffentliche, gibt es jetzt auch einen neuen Tab dafür.

Schon etwas älter.../already finished...

ist dieser Gürtel. Brettchengewebt in Köpertechnik aus Baumwollhäkelgarn, mit 25 Brettchen. Die Muster entstammen dem Mammenfund aus Dänemark (die beiden oberen) oder sind selbst geschrieben  (das untere). Der Gürtel ist 2.8 cm breit und ca. 126 cm lang, der Verschluss besteht aus zwei D-Ringen.

was this belt. It's tablet woven (3-1 broken twill, Cotton crochet thread), using 25 tablets. The patterns either derive from the danish Mammen finding site (the upper ones) or were made up by myself (the one at the bottom). The belt measures aprox. 2.8cm x 126 cm and is closed by two D-shaped metal rings.

Auch hier war Fasching.../ Carnival

...leider mit heftiger Rüsselseuche. Weil ich die Wolle nicht verseuchen wollte, war nicht viel los mit Wolle. Aber von vorher hätte ich noch einiges zu zeigen: zum Beispiel den Seemann, der bei mir vorbeigeschaut hat: und zwar in Form dieses Garns. Es wiegt knapp 60g, die Lauflänge habe ich nicht gemessen. Es muss aber so um 60m liegen...... na ja..

....unfortunately all ill. Since I didn't want to 'contaminate' my wool, I didn't do much crafts lately, but I have some works left to show you from before: for example this 'seafarer' who dropped by in form of this yarn. It weighs about 60 gms, but I didn't measure the length... it must be around 60ms.

Verstrickt sah das ganze so aus: Wieder das bekannte Wellen-Fallmaschenmuster.

Entstanden ist das Garn aus diesen netten Röllchen:

The yarn was made out of these nice rolags:

Dieses Blending Board ist nämlich bei mir eingezogen: aus Kardenbelag von Tom Walther und einem Buchenholzbrett einfach selbst gemacht. Dann haben wir den Belag mit doppelseitigem Klebeband festgeklebt und mit ein paar Polsternägeln am Rand angenagelt. Die Wolle wird mit einem Lasurpinsel engebürstet, der hat schön feine Borsten und haart nicht.

Damit sind auch die 36 grauen Röllchen oben entstanden;) ich war einige Weile nur am kardieren.

This blending board moved in here: We made it from carding cloth (bought at Tom Walther's) and a board ;) Then we glued the cloth onto the board using double-faced adhesive band. Finally, we nailed it onto the board. The wool is brushed into the cloth using a soft and non-hairing paintbrush.
With this board, I made the 36 gray rolags upside,too ;) I was quite busy carding for a while ;))

Wasserwelten II

Aus diesem Kammzugrest "Wasserwelten" von Melinoliesl, den ich euch hier schon mal gezeigt hatte, ist jetzt noch dieses Garn entstanden. Diesmal navajogezwirnt mit 96 g und 297m Lauflänge. Da der Strang so schön ausgewogen war, habe ich ihn nicht gewässert. Weil es aber glaube ich Polwarth ist, wird das fertige Strickstück dann schön flauschig ;)

 

From this roving remainder "underwater worlds dyed by Melinoliesl (which I showed you before) I now spun this yarn. Navajo plied, 96 gms and 297m. Since the skein was really balanced, I did not soak it, but it's Polwarth, so I guess the finished knitting will be really cuddly ;)

Alles-rein-und-mitnehm-Tasche / Put-it-all-in-and-take-it bag

war der Grundgedanke bei diesem Modell. Sie besteht aus zwei komplementären Baumwollstoffen in rot und weiß. Den Boden bildet eine ovale Fläche. Den Schnitt habe ich selbst ausgetüftelt, so ganz perfekt war er nicht (aber was solls, die Tasche tut ihren Dienst)

 

was the main idea of this bag. It is made of two complementary cotton fabrics in red and white. The base is formed of an oval part and I made up the pattern myself, so it didn't fit completely, but I don't really mind since the bag works well

Im Futter habe ich ein Band mit zwei Ösen eingenäht, in die man z.B. einen MP3-Player (in einer Tasche mit Karabiner), einen Schlüssel oder sonst was einhängen kann. Sehr praktisch, denn sonst wühlt man in dieser Riesentasche ewig.

In the lining, there's a band holding two eyelets into which you can hook a bag holding your MP3-Player, a set of keys or anything. Very handy, because otherwise you would be digging forever in this giant bag.

 An der Verschlusslösung musste ich ein wenig tüfteln, das hat nicht so geklappt wie geplant. Schlussendlich ist jetzt ein Magnetknopf montiert, der außen von einem großen Mantel- bzw Blusenknopf aus dem Fundus überdeckt wird.

I had some problems with the closing (which did not work as I had planned). Finally, I put on a magnet button system covered by an old coat or blouse button on the outside.
